Pick the problem
Meet the room, form a small team if you want one, and turn a useful or delightfully weird idea into a buildable scope.
Turn an idea into a working app with AI tools in one focused afternoon. Beginner-friendly, builder-powered, and made for people ready to learn by shipping.
No app-development experience required. Technical people are very welcome.
The mission has changed
RePlay Alexandria: Shipaton Edition is a compact, in-person app-development sprint. Use modern AI tools to move from problem to prototype fast, alongside curious makers and experienced tech people. It is powered by Revivals Egypt and built around one rule: make something real.
Come with an idea, or find one in the room. Leave four hours later with a working app you can show.
The format
A tight sprint from blank page to live demo. We provide the structure; you bring the curiosity.
Meet the room, form a small team if you want one, and turn a useful or delightfully weird idea into a buildable scope.
Choose your AI tools, sketch the simplest useful version, and define the one core experience you want to ship.
Prompt, prototype, debug, and iterate. Mentors and fellow builders will help you get unstuck without taking over.
Put your app in someone else’s hands, share a short live demo, and celebrate what the room managed to make.
New to building? We will make the first steps approachable. Already technical? Even better. Come move fast, stretch the tools, and help set the pace.
Why this matters
RePlay turns access to AI tools into practical STEM experience. Partner support helps 30 participants learn by creating, collaborate across experience levels, and finish the day with tangible work.
Participants practice product thinking, digital design, AI literacy, problem solving, and app development through a real build rather than a lecture.
A beginner-friendly format opens the door to first-time builders, while technical participants and mentors strengthen peer learning and knowledge exchange.
The sprint connects emerging talent, technology communities, civil society, and companies around visible outcomes created in Alexandria.
Participants learn to use AI as a practical creative tool while considering users, testing assumptions, and making thoughtful product decisions.
The program is designed around clear indicators: 30 seats, four hours of guided building, completed prototypes, live demos, and participant feedback.
Supporters can contribute resources, technical mentors, participant opportunities, and ecosystem connections that continue beyond event day.
For partners: RePlay offers a credible, youth-led platform for STEM access, employee mentorship, local talent engagement, and community investment. Support can be financial, technical, or in kind, with a shared focus on useful participant outcomes.
